Present‑focused, future‑oriented, goal‑driven (personal development, career, performance)

Approach

Action plans, accountability, skills building, performance feedback, mindset shifts, strategic planning (e.g., GROW model)

Client's Needs

Individuals seeking improvement or achievement in relationships, work, school, or performance; generally psychologically healthy

Timeframe

Weekly or milestone‑based; short‑term or as needed

Reimbursement

Coaching services are not reimbursed by health insurance

Approach

Evidence‑based models such as CBT, DBT, Psychodynamic, and Supportive Therapy

Client's Needs

Individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, mood issues, or other mental health concerns

Timeframe

Typically weekly; short‑term (6–20 sessions), medium‑term (4–6 months), or long‑term (1+ year) depending on goals and symptom complexity

Reimbursement

Dr. Mao provides documentation called "superbill" you may submit to insurance for possible reimbursement
